11/13/2008Is there a way, to use SharePartXXL to organize the data i have inside a list so as to have the lookup list organized in a nice fashion? The data of the list, are dynamic in terms that they change regularly and automatically, as they are retrieved from a service.
When I create a new category:
Category link is -In progress- and nothing happens.
The log says:
Info: Update category failed: Category: Emne Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at 7.2..ctor(SPWeb ) at 7.2.0(String , String , String , UInt32 , SPWebTemplate , Boolean , Boolean ) at 7.a.0(2 , SPWebTemplate , CategoryItem ) at SharePartXXL.Taxonomy.Application.0(CategoryItem , Boolean )
10/1/2008I set the SPXXL-Category by custom programming as described in the FAQ ( http://www.sharepartxxl.com/products/taxonomy/Lists/FAQs/DispForm.aspx?ID=24 ).
This works fine, but I notice a very interesting effect:
The SPXXL-Category is set correctly through my custom code depending on other columns, I can see it in my Document Library. But in the Categories List the corresponding document doesn't appear.
So I go ahead and change the document properties and again depending on other columns the SPXXL-Category is changed, too, through my custom code. Now the document appears in the Categories List, but surprisingly under the category it should have had before and not under the category currently set in the Document Library.
Again I change the properties and, voilá, the SPXXL-Category in the Document Library is set correctly, but in the Categories List the document now shows under the Category it was set to during the first modification. So it seems the listing always is one step behind the current value.
Has anyone else experienced this behavior? Does it relate to my custom code? How does the Categories List get its information and when?
If anyone wants to inspect my code just tell me at heile (at) web (dot) de.
Thanks in advance for any hint.
Stefan :-) I find a search button while adding a category. In the same way can I search from my data base while adding a list item column data to the list?
In short, can I search for the content from my Database instead from the categories and add to the list item? 9/4/2008
I'm exploring this product for a client in Australia, so I'm just using the 10-category demo version, and am very impressed with it.
However I have an issue with getting multiple items posted into the results items list whenever I edit or checkin a document in a library which has versioning set on. It does not appear to be a problem when the library does not have versioning set on.
I have a set of screen shots that I can provide to show you exactly what I'm doing and what happens.
Thanks, Paddy Payne
Is it possible to set the category per workflow with SharePoint Designer? I'd like to set the category depending on other metadata automatically.
Thanks in advance for your answer.
Regards,
Stefan :-) Is it possible to restrict the "Lookup to SPXXL Categories"-column in a way so that only one category can be chosen? According to a "Choice"-column with Drop-Down Menu.
I don't want the users to select more than one category per item.
Thanks in advance for your answer.

Is there any way to allow the category to be selected from the DIP in Office applications so that users can classify their documents at the same time they are entering other metadata? At the moment the DIP shows the field but it is locked and says "Edit property on server"
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
is it possible to create more than one taxonomy list?
I would like to create different taxonomies for different sites within a site collection.
